Foosball Shooting Drill Counter

This application supports foosball shooting drills with a randomized shot counter and sound cues that signal different shot variants. Select the range in which you want the sound cue to come. Select the break time you need to set the ball up for the next shot. If more than one gap is selected, you can assign a name for each gap (such as push long, or straight) and a sound from your phone’s library.

Drill 1: One gap, focused randomized shot

This drill helps you train for waiting until a gap in the goalkeeper’s defense appears, and for executing the shot regardless of the time on the shot clock. Select the start and end time for when the randomized cue will sound. You can use the full range of the counter (between seconds 0 and 15) or any other interval (for example, start at second 5 to prevent shots too early in the shot clock). Select the break value that lets you comfortably reset the ball into the shooting position between tries. Select 1 gap so the baseline sound will play. You choose the gap in your mind’s eye. It is a good idea to set the goalkeeper figures in a position that lets you test both the execution and the cue. The drill is best for practicing the following skills:

  • focus
  • shot readiness at all times
  • execution under pressure

Drill 2: Multiple gaps, randomized time and shot diet

This exercise is designed to let you show your flexibility. Instead of waiting for a moment to shoot to kill, it forces you to execute a shot as soon as you hear the cue. For a snake shot, that lets you practice the movement from a relaxed position without making a decision early, and execute as soon as a gap opens or is noticed. Select the range of the timer for the randomized cues. Select 2 or more gaps, name them, and choose sounds that tell you what they mean (for example, choose 3 gaps and name them Straight, Long, and Middle; choose sounds you will recognize as those cues). Select the break value that lets you comfortably reset the ball into the shooting position between tries. The drill is best for practicing the following skills:

  • flexibility and split-second decisions
  • observing the goalkeeper and using their errors

Drill 3: One gap, specific shot time

This drill gives you a clear sense of shot time, particularly for shots later in the shot clock. It teaches consistency. Select a start time and an end time with no more than 1 second between them (for example, start at 6 and end at 7, and the cue always sounds in second 6). Select the break value that lets you comfortably reset the ball into the shooting position between tries. The drill is best for practicing the following skills:

  • shot clock duration awareness

And any other variations of the drills above.

Name each gap and choose its sound. Short clips work best. From 2 upward, the call picks one of them at random.
